Reagan High School's Dance Department is proud to have a chapter of NHSDA. We strive to promote a love of dance in our department, school, and community. 

NHSDA Requirements

-Have and maintain an unweighted 3.0 GPA

-Be a junior or senior enrolled in a Dance Company class

-Pay $50 in society dues

After becoming a member, dancers must fulfill these requirements to remain in good standing:

-Participate in both a Christmas charity even and a spring charity event

-Give 2 hours of community service to the dance department each semester

-Attend rehearsals outside of school hours for an extra piece in the concert (optional, but encouraged)

Students who do not complete the required hours of community service or do not participate in the Christmas charity event will not be eligible to participate in the spring extra piece and could potentially be dismissed from the society. Juniors who do not complete society requirements will not be invited back the following year.

You must attend the in person meeting in the dance studio on August 21st either in the morning at 8:10am or 3:50pm.

Honor Society Extra Piece Information
For the fall of 2024, the Honor Society piece will be choreographed by Kaci Lee Hedgecock. She has worked with us many times before as Mrs. Astuto's maternity sub and choreographing for previous Honor Society pieces. We're thrilled to have her back!

The sign up for this piece will be sent out via Band on August 21st at 3:50pm. There will only be 36 dancers in this piece, and dancer selection will be on a first come first serve basis on the sign up. Dancers are expected to be at ALL rehearsals. If you miss a rehearsal or do not communicate with Ms. H, you can be removed from portions of the piece or removed entirely. Outside of sickness or family emergency (notes need to be provided in these cases), it is at the choreographer's discretion to excuse an absence. If there is an unchangeable event that you must attend, you must communicate in advance. Dancers missing for an excused absence must remind the choreographer one week in advance (at the rehearsal before the missed date). It is a privilege to be in this dance not a right.
